Felipe Solisce. Prêt-à-Porter. Fall-Winter 2013-2014.

At the begging of sketching this season I was so full of love, I was very happy about everything and then it all started to fall apart. I was very sick a month ago, I was very sad, etc etc. And so I decided to change the collection, one could say I CURSED the collection (Beauty and the Beast reference).

I wanted the collection to feel like love feels. Hard and soft, heavy and light.  And so I changed the tulles and the ribbons for leather, transparency for a battle lace, I changed the whole theme from a medieval princess in love to the black death, medieval wars and a widow Queen.

A queen that saw her whole kingdom fall apart, and had to go away to the war, because his king had fallen sick with the Black Death, and then returning glorious to her land just to find her beloved king death. Praying to  death to take her too, but at the same time being able to stay strong for her kingdom.

Felipe Solisce. Haute Couture. Spring – Summer 2013.

My inspiration for this collection starts with the thought of baroque architecture, that why I decided to add some acanthus details to some of the dresses.

My second and most strong inspiration was the absence of couture that’s going on this season, since some of the most brilliant designers are not showing anymore.

I decided to hit the minimalistic trend with my own codes, I subtracted some of the parts of the dress, the tulle symbolizes this “lost” couture over the top parts, the big shoulders, the trains, the ruffles etc.

More than minimalism it’s ind of deconstructivism of the clothes.

As the collections were approaching and with the intense screaming of a very minimalist era to come, I decided to do something with structure and with a story to tell.

This season my story is the secret garden that I wanted as a kid. It starts with a woman recolecting honey from the domesticated beehives (that explaining the first designs in white tweed and gold lame) and then finding herself in this beautiful garden surrounded by peonies, bougainvillea, yellow vine trumpet, roses, hydrangeas, etc.

My Fabrics for this season are silk, tulle, chiffon, rafia and tweed in most of the looks.

I want to apologize for the delate, but I was so busy with school, I hardly found the time to colour the sketches. I’m really sorry for that.
