Felipe Solisce. Prêt-à-Porter. Spring – Summer. 2014.

For my spring collection I was inspired by a lot of things, but mostly, Mexico and Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, I see her as a forgotten icon of the mexican culture, she lives under the shadow of Frida Kahlo, and I wanted to bring her to the spotlight.
Religiously Architectonic yet fun and juvenile are some of the word that I’ll use to describe the collection. For the first time ever I’m using a lot of denim in almost every look in the daytime looks, to get a younger and fresher look. For the night time looks I went with my favourite… black, a lot of it, I love to wear it every season, so I will use it more. (Maybe I should have my own shade of black… Solemn Black).
I have decided to create name my style “Functional Romanticism” since I think that’s what I try to do, tell a story, be theatrical, yet I want my clothes to be used, to be there everyday, for every moment and for everyone.
